The 2001 Dupont Benedictus Awards

The Awards Program : The Dupont Benedictus Awards is an annual international architectural awards program to recognize innovation in the use of laminated glass in outstanding commercial and residential archiitectural projects, of in dignigicant and enterprising architectural projects in which laminated gladd is an essential component.
Scope:
The competition is named after Edouard Benedictus, a French chemist who discovered the process for laminating glass. The program includes a student design competition in addition to recognition of completed projects in the two professional categories, commercial and residential.
Prizes:
Both a commercial and a residential architectural project will be selected for award. The winning architects will each be presented with a glass sculpture designed by renowned German artist, Hans Godo Frabel. The winning projects will be displayed at the AIA Convention and will also be published in international professional publications of architecture and construction, as well as in a summary publication.
Eligibility
:
This program is an international competition open to all architects except members of the jury or their firms. Entries may be submitted by individuals or a group of individuals contributing to the design. In addition, the entry can be a collaborative effort representing work of individuals from several firms. Prejects must have been completed since January 1, 1996.
Evaluation Criteria: 
Entries will be judged by degree of innovation, breadth of application, importance of laminated glass to the building and concept, significance for industry and the consumer, and security enhancement to withstand or ameliorate demage from natural or manmade disasters.

Object : The L'A.T.E.R. - PISTOIA (Azienda Territoriale Edilizia Residenziale) promotes a relationship of cooperation with the Italian and Foreign Universities, considering young people's contribution more innovative. The competition intends to compare the planning quality produced by didactics of University with the concrete basic themes of current architectonic debate.

registration is free and it will be automatically accepted on delivery The entries will be delivered or shipped in doxes or sturdy wrapping to ATER PISTOIA before 03.08.2022( for the entries shipped, it will be relied on postmark, however such entries could not be accepted after 03.09.2022).The title "Concorso di dee LA FELICITA' DELL'ABITARE"should be clearly affixed on the boxes. Inside entry boxes, there will be even an envelope with name and personal particulars of the competitors and a copy of their actual matriculation.

At The end of the works, the jury will make out a list with the first and the others notified and selected. Official result will be announced during the opening  of the project's exhibition.

ATER - PISTOIA will publish competitors' entries (elaborations) with exhibitions, catalogue, or other promotion forms
Awards:
The jury will select noteworthy projects. Awards are subdividedin this way:
- First prize L.3.000.000
- Second prize L.2.000.000
- Third prize L.1.000.000
- Two Mention citations L.500.000 each
the ATER - PISTOIA reserves the faculty to invite the competitors who made the best projects to a paid stage, for a period of 3 months, that will have as subject a real project about the territory of Pistoia district.
Standards of Evaluation: The selection and evaluation of projects consider of account their originality, their innovation, their functional characteristics and their architectonic qualities, but they consider also the power of the projects to expound some challenges and problems of modern society, in relation to the competition's theme.No entry fee is required.

Theme : Creativity in design cannot be confined to just the creation of a property. Colour is very important in all our living and working environments. The SIA-ICI Colour Awards recognises the importance of analysing the use of colour in any project that an architect embarks on and emphasises that design is not confined to just shape and structure alone, but incorporates appropriate and well-thought out colour schemes. With the Colour Awards, the oraganisers hope to inculcate in architecture, building design and decoration, a sense and creed of imaginative and creative colour schemes.
The Competition:
The Colour Awards hopes to encourage and recognise the creative use of colour in architecture, for both the interior and exterior of buildings.
Categories:
There are 3 categories for entry:

  1. Architecture:
    This category is open ONLY to coporate members of the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA).
  2. Interior:
    This category is open to BOTH corporate and associate members of SIA. This category is also open to members of the Society of Interior Designers Singapore (SIDS). However, SIDS members must enter in collaboration/ association with an SIA member, to qualify.
  3. Conservation:
    This category is open ONLY to corporate members of SIA.

PF Concept International, the largest manufacturer of businees gifts in Europe, Asia and the US, challenges young up-and-coming students of graphic and industrial design to design a business gift that reflects the chosen theme. The entries will principally be assessed for both originality and functionality, though the final decisions will also rest on whether the design is suited to mass production, fits in with the Markman Design Collection and on how the student justifies their design. The Markman collection includes high-quality innovative business gifts, with the accent on design.

2001 UNESCO Heritage Conservation Award

The annual Awards programme is one strategy the Office of the UNESCO Regional Advisor for Culture in Asia and the Pacific is using to promote conservation of the region's built heritage, which is often threatened by unchecked development, neglect, or inappropriate reuse.  UNESCO believes that recognizing successful preservation efforts helps spur additional projects within the same community, advocating the culture of preservation and conservation through the use of appropriate conservation techniques and approaches. 

UNESCO invites entries for the best conserved/restored building, structure or complex over fifty years old. Projects completed within the past ten years are eligible for consideration. One Award of Excellence, two Awards of Distinction and five Awards of Merit will be presented. The deadline for entries is 31 March 2001. Entries must be submitted to the UNESCO office in Bangkok.
