The Faculty of Architecture was conceived in 1954 as an Administrative School of Advanced Builders with an objective to educate skilled construction contractors. It upgraded itself to a College of Construction nine years later. Equipped with capable and proficient teaching personnel, it achieved academic excellence, and its reputation became renowned. It joined King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang as a Faculty of Architecture in 1971, and moved from Bangplat to the present campus at Ladkrabang.

Sripatum University, one of the oldest private universities in Thailand, was founded by the late Dr. Suk Pookayaporn in 1970 under the name "Sripatum College" which was given by H.R.H. the Princess Mother, Somdej Phra Sri Nakarintara Borom Ratchachonnanee meaning "source of knowledge blooming like a lotus." In 1987, the University was expanded to Chon Buri Province, on the country's Eastern Seaboard. The opening ceremony was presided over by H.R.H. Princess Chulabhorn Walailuk on July 19, 1987.
